Punta Bianca

The competition called for the transformation of the abandoned stone Customs
House at Punta Bianca, a newly designated nature reserve on Sicily’s southern
coast, into a visitor center that enhances public access while protecting the
fragile landscape.
The proposal transforms the abandoned Customs into a visitor center that
reveals rather than dominates its protected coastal landscape. The proposal
uses a restrained palette of sand-colored concrete, stone, and timber to integrate
with the white marl cliffs while keeping all structures low, porous, and minimally
anchored to the terrain.
